LEVAN S. DZHAGARYAN

AMBASSADOR OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
 IN THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF SRI LANKA
 AND TO THE REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES

Born in 1957.

1986 – graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

Joined the diplomatic service in 1986.

1987 – 2005 – was holding different positions in the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation, including in Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan. 

2002 – 2005 – Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan.

2011 – 2022 – Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iran.

Has the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
 of the Russian Federation.

Speaks English and Persian.

Married, has two grown sons.
